self quick to judge others or have the need to be held in high esteem
as I have misplaced my true identity and source of security.
God is aware of our need for security as indicated in the use of such
words as “refuge”, “stronghold”, “salvation”, and “rock” when de-
scribing Himself. Notice the final verses of Psalms that are quoted
have exclamation marks, reminding us to pour out our hearts to Him,
i.e., share our judgments and insecurities, for He is our refuge and

Prayer
Father God, remind us
that when we judge oth-
ers we are judging our-
selves and recognize
our need for security.
Let us place our trust in
you, knowing that you
alone are righteous. Let
us hold in high esteem your priceless kindness, forbearance, and pa-
tience and cause us to repent, remembering it is offered not only to
us, but those we would seek to judge. Amen.
