Also the different states of the choice will lead to death. As we all know, tempo-
ral death is inevitable, I feel that St. Paul is putting into human terms the spiritual
and moral choice.
In 60 AD, the temptations of sin were the same, and in our cultural and techno-
logical changes over the near 2000 years we have made both the choices quicker
and easier to fall from the path of righteousness. Also these changes can be
wrought for good. Technological change is just enriching the language and
speed in which choices can be made. We need to be aware before we pick up
that cell phone call or surf the internet. Is it for good or a just a distraction? We
should always be alert to the choices that are implicit within our lives and the im-
plications of those choices on our moral and spiritual situation.
Prayer
Lord,
Speak to me as the human I am, in words and signs that can be understood.
Enable me to see the choices I make daily for what they are and lead me on the
path you choose.
