At the time of Jesus there were seat

principal seats, in the middle part of the couch on
which they reclined at meals, esteemed the most honorable. Needless
to say the Pharisees would have been jockeying to be seated in the
place of honor.
Where are the seats of honor nowadays? Being invited to the White
House, being on a committee for the CEO, at the

cademy

wards,
on the fifty yard line, in the presiders
seat? Who wouldn’t want to sit
in one of those seats? I, for one, would like to sit in all of them. Yet
would I push myself into such a seat? I am way to
o
shy to do that.
I have gone to a few events where I was asked to sit next to person
of honor. I remember being so honored to be sitting there. Most of
